Mission

Willow Park Country School is a coeducational, preparatory school dedicated to providing students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. In a nurturing and supportive environment, we offer a challenging program that stimulates students to achieve their maximum potential through academic, creative, and social endeavors.

We are actively committed to diversity and we expect and promote moral responsibility and strive to develop strength of character within a respectful school community. Our goal is to foster a lifelong passion for learning, understanding, and service in an ever-changing world.

philosophy

We strive to instill within each child a balance between individual development and commitment to the community.  Our invigorating and supportive environment stimulates and promotes ethical, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth at all levels. In a program which recognizes each child’s unique timetable and needs, the measure of success is in the ongoing process rather than the finished product.

A superior education embraces the concept that to educate is to do more than to teach.  We regard the student as a whole person and seek to assist each in fulfilling his or her potential for personal growth by providing an environment that nourishes cultural, social, and physical needs, as well as moral and ethical sensitivities — thus helping our young people define an image of themselves that they can accept and respect.

Academically, we deliver a comprehensive program which inspires our students to:

(1) think independently;

(2) write and speak with clarity; and,

(3) appreciate the humanities, the arts, and the sciences.

Our students graduate from Willow Park Country School with a feeling of self-confidence and pride in their particular talents, capable of attending the schools of their choice, and well prepared for what lies ahead.

It is our belief that the education of young people should encompass cultural and communal experiences which fuel the responsibility of each individual for the life and spirit of the whole community. The result is a Willow Park graduate who is able to face the world with confidence, to compete effectively, and to contribute meaningfully to society.

This philosophy is woven into our everyday actions and interactions, both at the school and within the community at large. It acknowledges the importance of positive interactions with others and in seeking to better the community as we better ourselves. It looks beyond gender, nationality, culture, and class. It guides staff, administration, students, and families to meet responsibilities and fulfill dreams.
